Louisville, Kentucky (June 23, 2026) – A 26-year-old Louisville man was killed Tuesday morning in a crash on Interstate 71 near Crestwood, Kentucky, according to authorities.

Officials said the crash occurred just before 7:00 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-71 when a van rear-ended a semitruck. Oldham County Police Chief Greg Smith confirmed that emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of a serious collision.

The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said a portion of Interstate 71 was closed for several hours as investigators processed the scene and cleared debris. The roadway reopened at approximately 12:18 p.m. Tuesday.
